The new national standard for power bank is set to be brought in on July 1, 2018. The China Electronic Standardization Institute (CESI, an agency of China's MIIT) has released a list of the first 10 enterprises providing power banks compliant with GB/T 35590-2017 requirements (Note: list is in random order, figure source: China Green Power Alliance).

All ten of the selected enterprises have produced products compliant with the new national standard and offer mature product design and complete customer service systems. In addition, through strict compliance with the national standard, these enterprises' products offer continuously improving user experiences, injecting new vigor into the power bank industry, under CESI's guidance.

According to results published by China Green Power Alliance, many power banks failing to meet the new national standards are present on the market, posing serious risks to users' safety. Following the implementation of the new national standard, these defective power banks will be outlawed or even legally sanctioned to some extent.

We hope everyone learning of this message can help to spread it, and monitor or report non-standard power banks. This will mitigate potential safety risks, creating secure spaces for the people around us.

ZMI is joining hands with industry partners in its strict compliance with national standards and development of high-quality power banks that will contribute to the development of Chinese products.
